Book & Movie Reviews

BOOK AND MOVIE REVIEWS

One might initially think it inconceivable that so many books have been written about the polar regions and their environs and about all the activities that have happened therein (or should that be thereon, in the case of "the Ice?"). But when one takes a look at the myriad variety of titles and themes these books encompass, it is no longer a mystery why the list seems to go on and on!

While there are fewer movies than books focusing on the Arctic, the Antarctic and their close continental cousins, the films that have been made about these regions all have something to recommend them—if only, at times, some great scenery and a bit of education! But then there are those movies that are just downright inspiring to watch, such as the recent "March of the Penguins."

Whatever your interests and tastes, we hope you will enjoy perusing the many reviews from recent and past issues that we will post here for your reading (and sometimes watching!) pleasure. Check back often, as more are being added all the time.
