Wondrous Cold: An Antarctic Journey is the result of photographer Myers’ four-month visit to McMurdo Station in 2002-2003 through NSF’s Antarctic Artists and Writers Program, along with trips to the Antarctic Peninsula with three different tour operators. It accompanies a Smithsonian traveling exhibition of 50 color and black-and-white images that premiered at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History in May 2006; the exhibition will also travel to Miami; Jackson, WY; Oneonta, NY; St. Petersburg, FL; Port Arthur, TX; Ontario, CA; Salina, KS; Springfield, MA; Spartanburg, SC and other cities.
