WHY JOIN THE AMERICAN POLAR SOCIETY?
The American Polar Society was founded to promote, share and disseminate information concerning our planet's polar regions. The society welcomes anyone from all walks of life at any age or level of experience. Ages of members range from the school-age set to octogenarians and beyond. The only requirement for membership is having an avid interest in these special areas of the globe.
Currently we have almost 1,200 members from nearly every state in the Union and from every continent. Members run the gamut from those who have lived and worked for years at the poles to those who hope to someday venture there, to others who just want to learn more about these regions.
The Society is a forum for all things polar, including the latest scientific, political and environmental issues. This forum takes shape in our biannual The Polar Times magazine, an informative, readable accumulation of happenings, book reviews, commentary, etc., regarding the Arctic and Antarctic. The Society also occasionally hosts a symposium where members and others who are interested can gather together face to face and share in our mutual interests.
The American Polar Society's strength is in its membership.
We invite you to JOIN NOW.
